About
An independent lab, on donated time
Sensei Ewok Research Lab builds small open tools to help people examine evidence about cystic fibrosis, and does the work where anyone can read it.
What it is, and what it is not
What it is
A small software lab. Everything is open source, built in public, and paid for with the maintainer's own time.
What it is not
A medical organization, a clinic, a charity, or part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Nothing here is medical advice, and nothing here promises a cure, access to care, a timeline or a clinical benefit.
How we write
We say what we know plainly, and “we do not know yet” just as plainly. We keep what we hope for apart from what we have tested. We use short paragraphs and define our acronyms. To people living with CF and those who care alongside them: you deserve care, dignity, and room for ordinary life. You do not owe anyone an inspiring story.
Licenses
| Repository / Project | License |
|---|---|
| cf-lab | MIT |
| cf-skills | CC0 1.0 |
| cf-research | CC BY 4.0 for the notes; MIT for the code under tools/ |
| senseiewok.ai | MIT for site code and scripts; CC BY 4.0 for prose and illustrations |
A license covers what the lab wrote. It does not cover other people's reports, figures or marks. We cite and link to those under the access terms in the source catalog (sources/catalog.yaml in cf-research), and we do not reproduce them.
Public page review record
Every public page on this site undergoes automated integrity checks (contrast, links, CSP, anti-hallucination, and script weight budgets). Formal clinical review is role-scoped and tracked under T-0105. No page is marked “reviewed” until read and signed off by a qualified CF clinician.

What this site collects
The pages we write load no scripts, fonts or images from other sites, set no cookies and ask for nothing from you. The only thing kept in your browser is whether you hid the banner at the top, and only if you did.
Our hosting company adds a performance-monitoring script of its own to each page when it serves it. That script is not in our files, and we do not control what it records. The page's Content-Security-Policy, a rule sent with the page, tells your browser to run only our own scripts. In a real browser on October 7, 2026, it stopped the host's script from running. We cannot see what the hosting servers log.
